ABOUT
These pages are devoted to my musical activity applied to the narration through images and other expressive forms. My varied experiences, gained in over forty years, allow me to enhance artistic expression. I’m currently focused on cinema and podcasts, but eager to expand my reach in new and unexplored fields. My past and current activity, well exemplified by music projects such as Tasaday, A Short Apnea, Uncode Duello, Ear@Now, and my solo performances (as both Paolo Cantù and Makhno), with their recurring film references, field recordings and evocative elements, are the foundation of my music proposals. My working method includes the use of different sound sources, and the implementation of electronic treatments, manipulation techniques and effects. Over the years, I have used many electric and acoustic instruments (guitar, clarinet, bass, zither, sanza, xylophone, trumpet, portuguese guitar, drums, keyboards, synths, electronic drums, etc.), all approached according to their nature, timbre and characteristic. An endless sound research, developed through creative methods, aimed to direct and effective results.
